July
Everyone who attended the Pool Party at the Kurnit's had a great time! Although the traffic reports may have kept some folks off the Turnpikes, those who made it enjoyed the beautifully landsaped back yard and pool, not to mention Joe's famous sausage and peppers, Linda's potato salad and Peggy's surprise - a huge ice cream cake personalized with "Delaware Valley Bullmastiff Club." Thanks to everyone who made this meeting special.
May
Thanks to everyone who came out to our AKC Sanctioned Plan B Match at Smith's Woods Park in Burlington County. The weather was cloudy and cool - perfect for bullies. As usual, our member-chefs outdid themselves with the usual array of delicious food. Thanks to Carolyn Kurnit and Peggy Berger for organizing the Match. Thanks also to Dennis Collins for judging and Carol Collins for stewarding! Congratulations to the winners - Best Adult in Match was the 13 month old Jubilee Grommit bred and owned by Peter and Bodil Aczel. Best Puppy in Match was 3 month old Far Isle's Mr. Sandman, owned by Joe Matano.
Our next match will be our October Fun Match. We are planning a Therapy Dog Workshop and Certification. Check back for details!
October
Once again the DVBC is looking forward to representing the ABA at the AKC Meet the Breed in October, 2010 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. If you missed it last year, you will want to save the date this year. Rebecca Fulton and Carolyn Kurnit, along with our junior member Vincent Kunit, are looking forward to representing the Bullmastiff for the American Bullmastiff Association again this year... but we wecome volunteers! In addition to 161 dog breed booths, there will be purebred cat breeds, demonstrations, vendors and lots of family fun! If you are in the neighborhood...please stop in and see us!
