The Delaware Valley Bullmastiff Club is the oldest regional bullmastiff club in the United States. Established 1967 by a group of bullmastiff fanciers in the Greater Philadelphia area, some of these original founding members are still members today. The DVBC was created by bullmastiff enthusiasts wishing to maintain the breed standard through education, local breeder mentoring, and activities to unite bullmastiff owners in a fun way. The DVBC was licensed as an independent affiliate of The American Kennel Club in 2000. Our members are primarily from Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
DVBC conducts several events throughout the year including our annual Specialty and Sweepstakes, Banquet and Art Auction in York, PA, a sanctioned match in May, a fun match in October and several supported entries. We also reach out to the public through our participation in the Canine Learning Experience and Meet the Breeds events. We have meetings six times a year at various locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Our purpose is to educate and mentor new owners and promote camaraderie and good sportsmanship. We endorse responsible breeding and support the American Bullmastiff Association's Health and Research programs and Rescue endeavors through our annual donations.
Please come out to one of our shows or activities and see what we're about!
We love these dogs.
Advertisement by breeders who are DVBC members DOES NOT
constitute an endorsement by the Delaware Valley Bullmastiff Club of the
breeder's kennel or the dogs/puppies they produce.
It is our recommendation that all prospective puppy buyers interview each
breeder. DVBC believes very strongly in improving the health of our breed.
As a result, we advise all buyers to ask about the health screening of the parents
and grandparents of a litter. These health clearances include:
Normal Hip, Elbow, Cardiac, Eye and Thyroid exams.
